Happy in Berlin in 2010

Happy 2010!!! =) We just watched the New Year's fireworks from our Berlin balcony. I don't know how many of you will understand this, but these were moments of pure happiness for me.

It snowed last night - a nice deep powdery blanket that's made our street a soft sparkly white. It was delightful to stand on our balcony here and see the white street light up again and again with the colors of the fireworks shot off by the people below. I know that a number of my friends had a very difficult (or at the very least dull and trying) 2009. But I met all sorts of really lovely new people this year, and began some new projects which I'm really looking forward to expanding on in 2010. And so, feeling affectionate towards the year that has just past, and looking forward to the year that has just begun, I stood on our snowy white balcony watching the fireworks lighting up our snowy white street in this city that I really and truly love, and felt simply and purely happy. Happy in Berlin in Two Thousand and Ten!

This snippet of video shot last minute can't capture even an inkling of this, but for what it's worth, here 'tis, none the less...
